Respiratory protection routinely ranks among the top 10 most often violated OSHA regulations. This course provides the required annual OSHA respiratory protection training (29 CFR 1910.134). When employees finish this course, they will know how important it is to protect themselves and be able to choose, use, and maintain the right protection for the workplace. Respirators are required for workers in areas with insufficient oxygen or hazardous dust, fogs, smoke, mists, fumes, gases, vapors, or sprays. Different risks require the use of different types of respirators. Training employees on how to choose and use the right respirator is important to ensure their safety. Respiratory protection training is essential for safeguarding employees against risks such as increased breathing rates, faster heartbeat, reduced cognition, and loss of coordination. When a worker is doing a job that could be dangerous, even a small loss of coordination can kill them.
